Toby Snow, 29, from Scunthorpe, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison after being found guilty of violent sexual offences.

Snow's sentencing at Grimsby Crown Court followed a guilty verdict at Hull Crown Court in September, where a four-day trial concluded.

The judge also ordered that Snow remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life due to the severity of his crimes.

An investigation was initiated in March after a third-party reported that Snow had repeatedly raped a woman he knew.

Police officers arrested Snow the same day after meeting with the victim, who bravely recounted the violent assault.

During police interviews, Snow denied the charges but was subsequently charged and held in custody awaiting trial.

Detective Constable Douglass from the Protecting Vulnerable People Unit commended the victim's bravery in coming forward and enduring the trial process, describing Snow's actions as appalling.
