A teenager's facing charges after a reported car theft in Grimsby ends in a collision
Two police officers have been injured following a car chase in Grimsby involving a teenager.
The incident began with reports of a car being stolen on Byron Grove, leading to a pursuit at around 1pm yesterday (Wednesday 2nd September 2026).
The 16-year-old involved, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with a series of offences, including dangerous driving, theft, and possession of class B and C drugs.
The pursuit ended after the stolen vehicle allegedly collided with a marked police car, bringing both vehicles to a stop.
The officers involved were taken to hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.
Teenager faces multiple charges
The teenager faces additional charges, including two counts each of driving without a licence and insurance, as well as making off without payment and aggravated vehicle taking.
He has been remanded into secure accommodation and is due to appear in court at a later date.
