Police investigate cruelty to wildlife in Bourne

They've released footage of three people they want to talk to

Police would like to speak to the three youths in the video, after two reports of wildlife being killed with catapults.

Officers believe they may have information that will assist inquiries.

One incident happened on 1 August on Manor Lane, Bourne and the second incident was reported on 2 August at Well Head Fields, South Street, Bourne.

'Operation Lakeshot' is the name for a national operation, which oversees and pulls information and intelligence in relation to offences where wildlife are killed by the use of catapults or slings.

The offences that Op Lakeshot aims to deal with are:

Section 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 - kill a non-schedule 1 wild bird and/or

Section 18(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 - possess an article (the catpult/ball bearings) capable of being used to kill a wild bird.
