Arrest made after man suffers life-threatening injuries in late-night Grimsby crash

A 45-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision in Grimsby.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:45pm late last night (Saturday 22nd August 2026), at the junction of Freeman Street and Wood Street.
Humberside Police were called to reports a pedestrian had been struck by a blue Range Rover.
The vehicle's driver left the scene immediately after the crash.
Emergency services attended, and the injured pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the crash on suspicion of multiple road traffic offences.
Officers have since located the Range Rover involved in the collision, but they're still working to piece together the events leading up to the crash and are asking for the public's help.
Appeal for witnesses
Humberside Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the vehicle prior to the crash, or has any relevant information, including dashcam footage, to come forward.
They urge anyone with details to contact their non-emergency number, 101, quoting log 590 of 22nd August.
