Lincolnshire County Council has introduced ten new Mercedes-Benz Cityline minibuses to its Callconnect on-demand transport service.

The 16-seater vehicles, funded by the Department for Transport, will serve communities in Spalding, Grantham, Horncastle, Louth and Lincoln.

They replace older buses in the fleet, offering low floors, access ramps, air conditioning and even USB charging points to improve accessibility and passenger comfort.

The Callconnect service runs from Monday to Saturday and provides both bookable and timetabled journeys, helping connect villages, hamlets and market towns that are not served by regular public transport.

Mike Reed, Head of Transport at Lincolnshire County Council, said:

“It’s a real pleasure to see these vehicles ready to start serving people. Securing funding to invest in new Callconnect buses demonstrates the council’s commitment to rural public transport.”

Callconnect has operated across Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties since 2001.

Journeys can be booked through the Callconnect or Citymapper apps, with fares starting from £1.
