A man has been summoned to court for offences relating to the theft of hedgehog statue.

Mark McNeil, 62, of Shepherd's Bush Road, London, faces a charge of theft after a bronze hedgehog statue worth nearly £7,000 was stolen from a business in Stamford.

The statue was stolen in August 2025, and despite proving to be a prickly investigation, officers remained on the trail and ensured the investigation did not go into hibernation.

McNeil is due to appear at Boston Magistrates' Court on 26 October.
