Search called off after man goes missing in sea off Ingoldmells coast

Emergency services were alerted after a man entered the water

A search has been called off for a man who went missing after entering the water at Ingoldmells yesterday afternoon. The emergency services, including the Coastguard, were called at around 3:30pm.

In a statement Lincolnshire Police told us:

"A call was made yesterday afternoon (23rd November) reporting the man as missing. It is believed he entered the water at around 3.30pm.

"The man’s family has been informed, and efforts to locate him are ongoing."

A spokesperson for HM Coastguard added: "HM Coastguard responded to reports made at about 3.30pm on 23 November of a man missing from a swim off Skegness.

"An HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter; Skegness, Mablethorpe, Wrangle and Sutton Bridge Coastguard Rescue Teams; and lifeboats from Skegness and Mablethorpe RNLI were sent.

"The response was stood down, pending any new information, at about 3.30am on 24 November. Lincolnshire Police also attended."
