Man charged with assault in Scunthorpe

A man has been charged after someone was punched and a police officer was seriously injured in Scunthorpe.
It happened on Doncaster Road at around 4am on Sunday.
Thirty-four-year-old Nathan Taylor has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and assault.
East Yorkshire police stated:
"Nathan Taylor, 34-years-old of Cuxwold Road in Scunthorpe has been charged with section 18, causing grievous bodily harm with the intent to resist arrest and assault by beating. He has been remanded into custody to appear at court today (Monday, 24 August 2026).
"It was reported at around 3.50am on Doncaster Road in Scunthorpe officers witnessed an altercation resulting in a man being punched to the floor. A man was arrested but it was reported he then became aggressive and attempted to evade and resist arrest causing serious injuries to the officer’s head and ankle."
