Man arrested on suspicion of arson following Stamford fire

A man has been arrested over a fire at a property in Stamford, which is being treated as suspected arson.

Emergency services were called to Glen Crescent shortly after midnight on Saturday 29th August 2026, where Fire & Rescue colleagues were already responding to a blaze at the front door.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson and remains in police custody.

Lincolnshire Police detectives are keen to hear from anyone who might have information related to this investigation.

There's an increased officer presence in Stamford as a reassurance to the public.

We're also told multiple lines of enquiry are underway to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
