Man arrested after pub fight in Cleethorpes

A 21-year-old man was left needing hospital treatment.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested following reports of an altercation inside a Cleethorpes pub in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 18th January)

Police were called to Grant Street at around 3.20am after an incident between two men. A 21-year-old reportedly fell to the ground and was then punched and kicked.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment for a head injury, which is not believed to be serious.

When police arrived at the pub, they arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

He remains in custody while investigations into the incident continue.

A scene guard was put in place to allow officers to carry out enquiries but has now been removed.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
