Anglian Water is investing 11 billion pounds across the region, which includes much of greater Lincolnshire, in infrastructure, creating thousands of new jobs over the next five years.

The water company has announced it plans to recruit saying it will prioritise apprentices as future leaders.

They'll be 90 apprentices this year - adding to it's current cohort of two-hundred and thirty.

Ifeanyi Udeagwu is a Data, Digital and Technology degree apprentice with Anglian Water.

We've been speaking to him about the project.

You can be in the environment where people are making decisions where people are having those conversation

He told us: "I think that apprenticeships opens up that opportunity to have that experience - to have that background - to say I've done X, Y and Z.

"You also have the qualifications to say - I've studied this - I know my stuff when it comes to this."

"I think those two combined makes you a formidable candidate for whatever job you want to go into."

"You can be in the environment where people are making decisions where people are having those conversations."

"You're more comfortable there to talk about things - to get involved."

You not only get to go to University but also gain the experience from doing things day to day

"Normally when start in a role you're nervous but I think an apprenticeship bridges that gap and make you more confident in the future because you've experienced all those things."

"Support is the name of the game because you get support from almost every part of the business you interact with."

"I know how many problems I've run into in terms of doing the work."

"That kind of carries on with managers as well - there's always someone who will help you."

"You not only get to go to University but also gain the experience from doing things day to day"

"You're able to apply all the things you're learning at Uni and see it come to fruition."
