Locals set to again have their say on future of old Grantham Hospital
NHS Trust CEO tells us "it will not be a car park or a drive thru"
We've been finding out more about future plans for the old Grantham Hospital.
The building on Manthorpe Road has stood derelict for many years - some see it as an eyesore, others, an important part of the town's history.
United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has collected ideas from locals on what they want to see happen.
The CEO, Karen Dunderdale, says they'll now put these suggestions back to the public: "Some of those (suggestions) are - let's keep the frontage and do something behind, I think that's a great idea, that would be a great legacy " she said.
"Could we have a museum to (showcase) the heritage of the site.
"What we're really clear about is it will not be a car park and it will not be a drive thru."
The original hospital was built in 1874 from local stone and has gone through many uses in it's history, including a labour ward and housing nursing staff.
With the buildings frontage prominent from the street, many locals feel it's architecture is part of the town and important for it's history.
"We've had fantastic ideas from them as the public about what we could do, we're just pulling all of that together in a document," said Karen.
"We're going to go back out to the public in terms of, these are the things that you suggested - what do you think?
"It's falling down, but what I'm really keen and the board of the hospital is really keen to do is to maintain a legacy of that hospital for Grantham and the residents."
