Lincolnshire Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses following a series of incidents involving a black Range Rover across the county.

The force confirmed today that a 13-year-old boy arrested in connection with the collisions on Thursday, 26 September, has been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Officers are now seeking to trace a number of potential witnesses who they believe may hold key information.

Detectives say they are especially keen to identify a cyclist who was knocked from his bike in Maltby Le Marsh at around 8.20am, but who has not yet contacted police.

They are also appealing for the parents of a child in a red and blue coat, who was reportedly nearly struck by the vehicle on West Street, Alford, shortly after an elderly man was injured at the same location.

Another cyclist, believed to have been nearly hit on Priory Road, Boston earlier in the morning, is also being asked to come forward.

In addition, officers are looking to speak to a van driver who may have witnessed a black Range Rover leaving the road on Hainton Road in Louth around 10.23am, shortly before the boy was detained.

The incidents, which occurred between 6.44am and 10.23am on 26 September, left several people injured, including a cyclist in Boston who was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police believe the incidents are linked and are continuing to appeal for dashcam footage, CCTV, and further witnesses.

Sgt Billy Spence, who is leading the investigation, said: “I appreciate this is an unusual and, most likely, a worrying set of incidents for people who may have been in the area at the time, and we are of course sending our best wishes and thoughts to those injured for a quick and full recovery.

"We do need the help of the public in order to make sure we have as much information and evidence as possible in order to carry out a thorough enquiry.”
