A Lincolnshire Nutritionist has been sharing her tips on getting healthy in 2025.

New research has found two thirds of adults living in the UK are overweight or obesity. The survey by Slimming World revealed 50% of UK adults say they’ve put off even trying to lose weight, with six in 10 of those aged under 27 the most likely to delay

The Lincolnshire Nutritionist Rebecca Wakefield said:

"If we are sleeping well that will also help our appetite, because if our sleep hormones aren't regulated that can effect our hunger and make us want to snack more often. In terms of exercise, keep it simple. Walking can be boring for some people but it is such an underated form of exercise."

"You could also try team sports, Netball for example, They have walking netball, they have back to netball so there is plenty of things that if you are interested in sport, you can go back to a slow beginner level and if you have to be accountable to someone else you are more likely to get up and go and do something."

More than one in five people said they’ve delayed losing weight for three years or more, with many saying that has impacted their health and caused them to gain even more weight.

Rebecca added:

"Once you get back into the reality of work, that time soon slips away if you have family, kids, preparing meals, time is a big issue for a lot of my clients, when are they going to fit it in. Don't set yourself unrealistic goals, take small steps at a time."
