Large fire outbreak on Old Wainfleet road in Skegness now scaled down

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue have responded to a significant fire on Old Wainfleet Road in Skegness. They now report that the incident has been scaled down to two fire engines and an aerial ladder, as the situation is now under control.

Six fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, and a water carrier were originally dispatched to tackle a blaze impacting at least three properties.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Firefighters have been working alongside local police to safely evacuate nearby residents.

Crews have thanked local residents and businesses for their patience, and specifically acknowledged Booker Skegness and members of the public for providing water and refreshments to emergency crews.

Authorities are advising people in the area to keep windows and doors closed, and to avoid the smoke downwind of the fire.

Suite Dreams in Skegness have thanked those who have offered support following the blaze. In a statement on social media they say the family business has been destroyed by the fire.
