Investigation into child neglect in Kirton as two arrested
Children taken to hospital as police inquiries continue
Police are investigating a case of suspected child neglect at Dennis Estate in Kirton, where concerns were raised about the welfare of two children.
On Wednesday 8th July, officers attended the scene, leading to the hospitalisation of two young children, aged one and two, for medical treatment.
A 23-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of neglect and have since been bailed with conditions.
Detective Inspector Claire Rimmer, overseeing the investigation, emphasized the complexity of the inquiries involved.
She warned against public speculation, as this could jeopardise evidence and impact the investigation.
“The most important people in this investigation are two children, who have a right to anonymity and the best care anyone can give,” Rimmer said.
Authorities are working diligently to ensure the children's welfare remains the priority as the investigation unfolds.
