Man Arrested After Stolen Car Spotted in Hull

He was also found in possession of Class A drugs

A 37-year-old man has been arrested after a car reported stolen from a Hull property was recovered by police earlier this week.

The silver Vauxhall Corsa was taken from outside a home in Hull on Monday, 14 April.

Following a report from the vehicle's owner, officers launched an investigation and began tracing possible sightings of the car.

On Wednesday, 16 April, officers spotted the stolen vehicle being driven along Beverley Road. They intercepted and stopped the car, leading to the arrest of a 37-year-old man.

He was arrested on suspicion of multiple offences, including:

  • Taking a motor vehicle without the owner's consent
  • Driving without insurance
  • Driving without a licence
  • Being in charge of a vehicle while unfit through drugs
  • Driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the legal limit
  • Possession of Class A drugs

The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.

Police are encouraging members of the public to continue reporting road traffic offences and dangerous driving.
