Murder investigation launched as woman dies after incident in Grantham
A 42-year-old man has already been arrested by police on suspicion of murder
Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman in her 50s died following an incident in Grantham.
Lincolnshire Police were alerted to an incident taking place at a house at Beck Gardens in the town just before 4:45pm on Friday (October 10th).
When officers arrived, they found a woman in her 50s who had sustained "life-threatening injuries", prompting other emergency services to be called.
Paramedics arrived to provide first aid, but despite their best efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.
The woman's family have since been informed and are now being supported by Lincolnshire Police as investigations into her death are launched.
A 42-year-old man has since been arrest on suspicion of murder and currently remains in police custody.
Police are remaining at the scene while investigations remain ongoing in the meantime, while an appeal for information has been opened.
