Young people from across Lincolnshire are heading to Lincoln for Big Football Day 2025.

The event, being held at Nettleham Football Club, is aiming to seize the opportunity of girls being inspired by England players at the Euros.

Kirsty Dixon, is from the Lincolnshire FA," football is a space for everybody, and especially for women and girls," she said.

"People may be quite nervous when starting, but as we know, football is a great tool to make new friends.

"Especially some of our programmes like Wildcats, where it's for 5 to eleven year old girls, it's a great way to have lots of fun and build confidence."

Since England beat Germany 2-1 in the Euros final four years ago, there's been huge growth in the women's game.

"It's incredible what the national competitions can do for local football," said Kirsty.

"I think it's really great for young girls to be able to see their heroes and role models taking part in such a massive tournament.

"It's really exciting to see role models participating in the sport that they all love."

England take on France in their first match of the Euros at 8pm on Saturday 5th July.
