Four people have been arrested after police received reports a man punched a woman and fled with a group in Scunthorpe.

Officers say it was reported at around 10.30pm last night (7th April) that a man assaulted a woman on Grange Lane and fled in a vehicle.

The group in the vehicle reportedly had a machete, which officers later seized.

Officers spotted the vehicle that same night on Gallagher Retail Park in Scunthorpe.

Two men, a 26-year-old and a 32-year-old, and two women, a 20-year-old and 23-year-old, have been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

Officers say the 32-year-old man also kicked them, and so was further arrested on suspicion of assault of an emergency worker.
