Have you ever thought about running away to join the circus?

Well now's your chance!

The Universal Circus Academy is teaming up with Russell's International Circus near Mablethorpe to offer 6 students the chance to learn the ropes.

The show tours the UK every year as well as travelling to worldwide locations like South Korea, the Caribbean, and India.

The course will see students learn everything from putting up the big top, sewing costumes and creating their own act to perform in the shows.

They'll also take part in a special showcase performance at the end for agents and circus directors.

Today they're holding an open day in Trusthorpe.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for budding circus performers"

Circus director Rusty Russell said it's a great opportunity to get all the hands on experience of life on the road.

"They can learn skills from our international artistes and prepare themselves for a future career in our industry

"On so many occasions I have booked acts direct from circus schools that are incredible performers but have no idea how to even rig their props in the big top or how to even begin to put up a big top.

"I saw an opportunity to teach people these valuable skills which are necessary when working on a touring circus."

"It is shaping up to be a great six weeks next year and we cannot wait to get started"

The course is being run by head coach Matthew Ryan who is a multi talented performer and teacher who has performed and coached circus arts all over the world.

"I am super excited to be running the course next year and we have already had some amazing applicants apply.

"This is a chance for us to meet potential students and for them to showcase us what skills they have and want to progress with us.

"It's also a chance for the potential students to meet us and get an idea of what it is all about."
