Lincolnshire gears up for two days of exciting cycling action in September
Lincolnshire is set to host the Tour of Britain, offering local spectators a chance to witness elite cyclists competing for the UK's top cycling honours.
The races are scheduled to span two stages across numerous towns and villages in the county this September.
For those eager to attend, organisers have provided a timeline detailing when the peloton is expected to pass each milestone.
The Lincoln to Lincoln stage will start at 10:30am on Wednesday, 2nd September, as the lead car departs from Castle Square.
The proper race start follows shortly at 10:45am on A158 Wragby Road East.
The cyclists will pass various locations including Market Rasen at 11:15am, Caistor at 12:11pm, and Hemswell at 12:57pm, culminating in finishes at Castle Square with multiple passages until the final finish at Newport, Lincoln, anticipated around 3:05pm.
Expect temporary road closures along the route.
The second stage departs Market Place, Boston at 10:30am on Thursday, 3rd September, with an official race start on Boston Road at 10:45am.
The peloton will journey through areas such as Coningsby at 11:16am, Horncastle at 11:45am, and Louth at 1:08pm, leading to a finish in Skegness on North Parade, expected by 3:02pm.
The organisers have advised spectators to arrive early to secure a good viewing spot.
