A man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a van, whilst another evaded officers by running through fields in Crowle.

Officers receieved reports on Monday (16th February) that a suspected cloned van and a suspected stolen van were entering Crowle in North Lincolnshire.

Officers spotted the vans on the A161, Haxey Road and requested for them to stop.

One of the vans failed to stop and during a pursuit, the van rammed a Police Dog Unit vehicle off the road.

The police dog and the officer in the vehicle were uninjured.

A man then reportedly ran from the van and across fields.

The 49-year-old driver of the other van, who stopped for officers, was arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle.

An investigation has been launched and officers are working to identify those involved.

Anyone with any information is being urged to contact the police by calling 101 and quoting crime reference 26*21888.
