Cyclists seriously injured after collision with motorcyclists near Elsham
A 69-year-old man and 69-year-old woman are being treated in hospital
Two cyclists are being treated for serious injuries after a collision involving two motorcyclists in North Lincolnshire.
Emergency services were called to the B1206 on Barton Road near to Elsham Golf Club at around 11.10am yesterday morning.
The road was closed to traffic, but has now reopened.
One of the motorcyclists also sustained minor injuries.
Humberside Police released the following statement:
"It is reported that a Lexmoto motorcycle and Motorini SMR motorcycle were travelling southbound along the B1206 on Barton Road near to Elsham Golf Club, when for reasons not yet known, the rider of the Lexmoto is believed to have collided with two cyclists travelling on the opposite carriageway.
"The two cyclists, a 69-year-old man and 69-year-old woman, were taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
"The rider of the Lexmoto motorcycle, a 21-year-old man was also taken to hospital for minor injuries.
"The road was closed at the time to allow emergency services to work safely and has since been reopened.
