Cleethorpes Kids Lead Beach Safety Campaign to Save Lives
Young trio raise awareness of water dangers and beach cleanliness after tragic incidents

Three ten year olds from Cleethorpes are making waves with a new project to help keep beachgoers safe and protect their local coastline.
The boys, Jacob, Harry and Oliver, are working together to create a campaign video at the RNLI station, aiming to spread vital messages about beach safety and the importance of looking after the beach.
Jacob says the group was shocked by recent tragedies in the water:
“It makes me feel like it was heartbreaking really, because people went out there, never know what was going on, got pulled under by the undercurrent and then got swept away.”
Harry explains why they felt the need to act:
“So we wanted to concentrate on it because we've seen on the news how many people have lost their lives fighting water."
"We do want people to stay more safe around water because I think we're in the triple digits for how many people have drowned around the UK."
"So if more people see it, then it might just save one or two lives. But even if the video saves one or two lives, it's still a life.”
Oliver adds:
“I want to see people, not as many people losing their lives and everyone just staying safer at the beach.”
The project is part of The Lifestyle Project, sponsored by Humberside Police, and includes fundraising for new lifesaving equipment for the RNLI.
The boys hope their efforts will encourage safer behaviour at Cleethorpes beach and beyond.
