Care Quality Commission finds end-of-life care in Grimsby and Scunthorpe hospitals to have improved
Both hospitals have moved up from 'inadequate' to 'good'.

End-of-life care at Grimsby's Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital and Scunthorpe General has improved from inadequate to good, according to the Care Quality Commission.
Inspectors found staff were providing compassionate care and supporting families well.
There were clear improvements in the way people needing end-of-life care were identified and supported. The hospitals had dedicated and knowledgeable specialist teams on hand to help ensure patients received timely and personalised care.
Feedback from patients and families were positive. Relatives told inspectors that they felt supported by staff. Training and support had also been implemented to help staff care for people with a range of additional needs, such as dementia, learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions.
However, urgent and emergency care at both hospitals still needs improvement, particularly around safe staffing and management.

End of life is an extremely difficult time for patients and their loved ones, and we want to ensure they receive the best care during this period.
