Thieves leave car to roll down hill and crash into house in attempted robbery in Ancaster

No one was injured in the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses or those with dashcam or doorbell footage after an attempted car theft in Ancaster.

At around 1am yesterday morning (Saturday 8th February), three people were seen trying to steal a Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid from the driveway of a property on Hillside.

When a resident came out of the property the three people then quickly fled the scene, leaving the car to run towards Wilsford Lane.

The offenders may have been running towards another vehicle and any information on this will assist the investigation.

The vehicle on Hillside then rolled off the drive and collided with a nearby property.

No one was hurt in the incident.

As part of officer's investigation, they're asking people to get in contact if:

  • You noticed suspicious activity in the village in the early hours of this morning.
  • You saw the three people shortly after this incident.
  • You have doorbell footage or dashcam footage of the incident, or the people.
