Police have dismantled a cannabis farm valued at £1.2 million on an industrial estate in Kidderminster following a targeted operation.

The discovery was made as part of Operation Forefront, a coordinated day of action focusing on tackling crime across Worcestershire on 14th October. Officers forced entry into a vacant factory off Birmingham Road, revealing an extensive cultivation setup across several rooms, which included chemicals, hydroponics systems, and extractor fans.

Two men, aged 44 and 32, were arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and currently remain in custody as investigations continue.

Detective Sergeant Kirsty Hill highlighted the link between cannabis production and organised crime, noting its potential connection to modern slavery. "This was a large-scale sophisticated enterprise with a significant amount of established cannabis plants," she remarked.

The operation was aided by public information, prompting gratitude from the police for community support that helps disrupt harmful criminal activities.

Residents are encouraged to report suspected illegal cannabis farms or criminal activities via West Mercia Police's website or through Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
