Man hospitalised after assault outside bar in Brigg

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after an assault outside a bar in Brigg on Friday evening (19th December).
Emergency services were called just after 10pm to reports of an altercation between a group of men and women on Market Place.
A man reportedly punched another man and had fallen to the ground.
The group is thought to have fled the scene.
A 31-year-old man was hospitalised.
An increased police presence in the area should be expected.
Detective Inspector Jayne Coutts said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation as we look to establish the full circumstances around the incident.
“A scene guard was in place at the time to allow officers to conduct their enquiries and has since been lifted.
“Those within the area can expect to see an increased number of officers and I would ask anyone with concerns to please come speak to them.
“Anyone who has witnessed the incident, information, CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with our enquiries, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 429 of 19 December.”
