Funding boosts Boston groups through BTAC Small Grant Scheme
Local organisations receive grants for community projects
Several local organisations in Boston are set to benefit from funding through the first round of the Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC) Small Grant Scheme for 2026/27.
BTAC provides support to residents living in Boston's unparished town wards by representing their views and ensuring funding is allocated to projects that directly benefit the community.
The funding, sourced from the Special Area Expense Account (SAEA) collected alongside Council Tax, supports a range of services in Boston, including parks, play areas, public toilets, and town events.
Additionally, BTAC serves as a consultee on major developments and awards community grants to organisations improving the lives of residents.
The BTAC Small Grant Scheme invests in communities by offering up to £1,000 to Boston-based groups, charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs), and social enterprises for projects, equipment, activities, venue hire, insurance, and promotional materials.
The BTAC Small Grants Working Group has awarded funding to four organisations in the first round:
Boston Original Band Initiative
A project supporting youth engagement and educational opportunities through music.
Boston Dancing Witches
An initiative focusing on arts and culture through dance.
Feathers Teens CIC
A programme providing educational support and engagement for young people.
Tonic Health
A project promoting community wellbeing and health.
Cllr Barrie Pierpoint, Chairman of BTAC, expressed enthusiasm for supporting diverse community projects, highlighting the importance of strengthening neighbourhoods and enhancing life across Boston's town wards.
