Work’s started on major improvements to Grantham’s Marketplace and St Peter’s Hill, thanks to more than five million pounds from the Government’s Future High Streets Fund.

The changes will see new power supplies for market traders, plus extra planters and benches to make the area more welcoming for events.

At St Peter’s Hill, there’ll be new flower beds, water features and benches, along with better access and a focus on keeping the area green and tidy.

Work in both areas is due to begin week beginning 23rd February and is expected to last several weeks. In the Marketplace, works will pause temporarily from 20th March to allow the Mid-Lent Fair to take place and will resume when the fair is over.

There will be no road or full pavement closures in either area so disruption to traffic and visitors will be minimal.
