Best and worse times to travel in Lincolnshire this Easter weekend
Over 15 million cars will be on the roads this Easter in the UK.
People in Lincolnshire are being advised to plan their Easter car journeys away from peak times.
Over 15 million cars will be on the roads this weekend - with Thursday between 2pm and 7pm expected to be particularly busy.
Lincolnshire County Council have told us they'll have emergency teams standing by for any breakdowns or accidents.
We've been speaking to Richard Fenwick, who's Head of Highways; "We expect there'll be a lot of journeys on Thursday evening after work time, and we expect there'll be a lot of journeys on Monday, when people are coming back.
"So have a think about what time you're planning your trips."
"We have emergency teams that work 24/7, and we'll be working all through the weekend, and we'll be liaising with the emergency services and police.
"So fingers crossed, there's no incidents, but we'll keep people updated if there have been any breakdowns on the road."
All of Lincolnshire's main routes are set to be open over the bank holiday.
Just the A16 Crowland bypass, which links South Lincolnshire with Peterborough, has some overnight works planned.
Lincolnshire County Council have also offered this advice for breakdowns; "Obviously, let the emergency services know, don't step out and wander around in the roads," said Richard Fenwick.
"Having a hi-vis jacket in the car with you is always a good idea.
"I'd also recommend some snacks and definitely some water in the car with you for in case the worst happens.
"If you haven't got a sat nav, then there's really useful website called one.network. It's a UK wide system that will show you any roadworks that are planned."
