Appeal after mobility scooter thefts in Lincoln

They happened in Moorland over the weekend

Police are appealing for information, after mobility scooters were stolen in the Moorland area of Lincoln.

In the first incident, the chain, which attached a red Roadmaster Plus mobility scooter in the front garden of a property on Turner Avenue, was cut and the scooter taken.

This happened at some point between 8pm on Friday evening and Saturday morning. The chain was left at the scene. Incident 114 of 4 October.

In the second incident, a mobility scooter was taken from outside a property on Cotman Road. This also happened at some point overnight Friday into Saturday.

The theft of the scooter is particularly devastating for the owner, who will now struggle to get out and about and fetch supplies. This is Incident 162 of 4 October.

The third incident is an attempted theft of a scooter on Westwick Drive.

On this occasion, three people all dressed in dark clothing and wearing balaclavas tried to steal a mobility scooter before an alarm was set off. They then fled the scene.

This, again, happened overnight Friday into Saturday. Incident 65 of 5 October.

Officers are urging mobility scooter owners to make sure their property is secured and locked and for anyone with information, or anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in these areas, to contact them.
