Alfie Boe to headline Lincoln Castle concert with Wicked stars
Tenor will be joined by Gravity stars Louise Dearman, Kerry Ellis and Rachel Tucker
One of Britain's best-loved tenors is set to headline a night of musical theatre at Lincoln Castle this summer.
Alfie Boe will perform at the historic venue on Sunday 27th June 2027, joined by West End and Broadway stars Louise Dearman, Kerry Ellis and Rachel Tucker as his special guests.
The trio, known for their roles in Wicked, will bring their show Gravity to the castle grounds.
The concert is being staged as part of an ongoing partnership between Lincolnshire County Council and Live Nation promoters Cuffe and Taylor to bring world class artists to perform at the venue.
Boe is a graduate of the Royal College of Music who went on to train at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
He achieved global recognition performing leading roles with major opera companies before becoming known as the definitive Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, a role he has played in the West End, on Broadway and on the production's 40th anniversary world tour, including a performance at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
He has also released more than a dozen studio albums and performed at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including Buckingham Palace for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the Royal Albert Hall.
Ellis was the first British actress to play Elphaba in Wicked, Dearman is the only performer to have played both Elphaba and Glinda in the show, and Tucker has played Elphaba on both Broadway and in the West End.
Their Gravity show brings together stage favourites including We Will Rock You, Cats, Oliver!, My Fair Lady, Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, Guys and Dolls, Evita, Joseph, The Great Gatsby, Sunset Boulevard and Chicago.
Cuffe and Taylor promoter Mark Harrison said: "What a wonderful show to announce as part of our summer series for 2027.
"To see and hear the voice of Alfie Boe in the majestic setting of Lincoln Castle will be something quite special.
"Added to that we have an absolute triumvirate of musical theatre royalty with Gravity so this will be one incredible evening."
Tickets go on general sale on Friday.
