Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue have said:

"Since around 4am this morning, our control room have taken 146 calls to flood incidents.

"This included 14 calls to incidents of stranded drivers in flood water and 53 calls to flooding inside properties.

"Our crews have been supporting communities across the county pumping out water where possible and helping people to safety.

"This has included the south of the county from Allington to Billingborough, in the Manby and Legbourne area, Sturton by Stow and Cherry Willingham."

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said: "Major incidents have been declared in Lincolnshire and Leicestershire due to severe flooding.

"My thoughts are with all those affected and my thanks to responders working hard to keep communities safe.

"Anyone in these areas should follow advice from the emergency services."

Billingborough is badly affected as 16 properties have been flooded. A rest centre has been set up in the village.
