Woman in 90's dies after crash in Morecambe

A woman in her 90s has died after a car crashed on Marine Road East in Morecambe.

It happened at the junction with Princes Crescent on Friday afternoon (27 March) - the silver Volkswagen Polo left the road, hitting a planter and then a lamppost.

The driver died in hospital on Saturday morning (28 March).

Officers are urging anyone who saw what happened, or who has any footage, to contact them.

Detective Sergeant Stuart Hart, of our Roads Policing Unit said:

“A woman has very sadly died following this collision and our thoughts remain with her and her loved ones at this time."
