Wigan Athletic are out of the FA Cup after a 4–0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The League One side faced a difficult evening against Premier League opposition, with Arsenal scoring four goals in the opening half-hour to take control of the fourth-round tie.

Noni Madueke opened the scoring in the 11th minute, before Gabriel Martinelli doubled the lead seven minutes later. An own goal from Jason Hunt made it three, and Gabriel Jesus added a fourth before the half-hour mark.

Despite the early setback, Wigan continued to compete throughout the remainder of the match against their top-flight hosts, but were unable to find a way back into the game.

The Latics now turn their attention back to league action as they look to build momentum for the rest of the season.
