"Fashion is for everyone" - why Frankie Bridge is boosting body confidence in Manchester
It's as Manchester Fashion Week returns after a 10 year break.
Manchester Fashion Week is back after a 10 year break, reigniting the city’s place on the global fashion map.
Runways and catwalks are being set up in venues across the City for the next four days, with body image and the environment a big focus. There'll also be debates, trade events and pop-up boutiques.
"We've been taught a narrative that fashion isn't for everyone and that's just completely wrong"
Former Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge is fronting one of the many events in the city to help celebrate fashion and boost self-esteem.
"We've been taught a narrative that fashion isn't for everyone and that's just completely wrong," says Frankie, as she brings a live version of her Instagram fashion-feature 'FAVES' to the city.
"It's so important that people feel confident in what they wear and that they don't feel judged. FAVES was born out of a time when I wasn't in a pop group anymore, I was a mum of two and I was kind of finding what I feel comfortable in''.
Frankie describes Faves as the UK’s first community-driven fashion discovery platform dedicated to making aspirational style accessible to everyday women. What began as her weekly “faves” shared on Instagram has grown into a trusted, authentic space where real women explore and share their favourite fashion finds.
The Faves in-person event is taking place during Manchester Fashion Week, on Saturday, 12 September 2025, from 12 PM to 3 PM at fivefourstudio, Manchester.
