Two men who carried out a series of knife-point robberies at shops in Preston and Chorley have been jailed for 11 years each.

The offences took place over four days in November last year, targeting four stores across the two towns.

20 year-old Adil Khan and 19 year-old Mustafa Safi were later traced to Kent and arrested after fleeing the area.

Detective Constable Sasha Smith-Hooke of Preston CID, said: “These two men carried out two robberies and two attempted robberies at knife point, targeting four different shops in a short space of time.

“They were both prepared to carry knives to commit their crimes, and these were terrifying experiences for the staff working in the shops.

“The use of knives or the threat to use them, will not be tolerated by Lancashire Police, and we will thoroughly investigate such offences to bring offenders to justice.”
