Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Blackburn.

Officers say the victim, a man in his thirties, was involved in an altercation with two men outside the Home Bargains on Byrom Street just before 7pm last Friday (27th March).

He died in hospital the next day from a head injury.

A postmortem examination showed the cause of death was a head injury.

A 43-year-old man and a 44-year-old man, both from Blackburn, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

Det Insp Pete Macdonald said: “We know from the CCTV we have already examined that there are a number of vehicles and witnesses at Home Bargains at the time so we would really like to speak to anyone who was in the area between 4pm and 9.30pm on Friday 27th March and who has dashcam footage or mobile footage or who may have been a witness to this incident to get in touch.”
