Woman suffers serious injuries following crash in St Annes

The 78-year-old victim remains in hospital due to her injuries

Police in Lancashire are appealing for information after a woman suffered serious injuries in a crash in St Annes.

Officers were alerted to the scene at around 1pm on Friday afternoon (January 3rd) following reports of a crash.

When responders arrived at the scene, they found that a black Honda Civic had crashed into a pedestrian on Clifton Drive in the town.

The victim, a 78-year-old woman, was treated at the scene for her injuries before being transferred to hospital.

According to Lancashire Police, the woman currently remains in a serious condition in hospital, due to her injuries.

Speaking on the case, Sergeant Thomas Malley from the force said: "First and foremost, my thoughts are with the injured lady and her family as she receives treatment.

"Enquiries are ongoing into how the collision occurred, and as part of this, I ask anyone with information or dashcam footage of Clifton Drive between 12:45pm and 1:15pm yesterday to get in contact with us."
