The eagerly anticipated Warehouse Arts Centre in Southport is set to open its doors during a Grand Opening Weekend from Friday 26th June to Sunday 28th June 2026.

This new arts and cultural hub, located at 30 West Street, promises to deliver a dynamic array of live music, arts, and creativity across its four-floor layout.

The venue takes its name from the former Warehouse restaurant, once a popular spot frequented by locals and celebrities, including Liverpool FC legend Steven Gerrard.

The opening event will provide the first opportunity for the people of Southport to explore the town’s latest cultural addition.

A platform for creativity

The Warehouse Arts Centre aims to nurture and showcase emerging talent from Southport’s vibrant arts and cultural scene.

Initiative leaders Ella, Spud, and Yvette Cooper, owners of Cooper’s Bar on Leicester Street, expressed their enthusiasm for the project.

They said: “We will continue to dedicate our time to keeping the grassroots music scene alive in our home town."

"We are so excited about our big move into The Warehouse Arts Centre."

Collaborators Andrew Portersmith MBE and Stephanie Portersmith from the not-for-profit Music Stuff, along with Tides Out Studios, are also involved.

Reviving a historic site

The Centre’s name pays homage to its predecessor, the Warehouse restaurant, which was once co-owned by Steve Gerrard.

The venue’s new incarnation seeks to uphold its legacy by becoming a vibrant spot for music and arts.

The team behind the project further added: “It’s official! Artists and events to be revealed! Stick it in your diary."

Southport locals and visitors alike can look forward to exciting performances and events hosted at this new venue.
