Six fire engines attend waste fire in Preston

People are being advised to keep their windows and door closed.

Six fire engines from Preston, Fulwood, Penwortham, Bamber Bridge, Skelmersdale and Chorley along with the aerial ladder platform from Hyndburn are currently working to put out a waste fire on Longridge Road.

People living in the area are being advised to keep their windows and doors closed.

A spokesperson from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, said:

“At 08:10 on the 12th March 2023, six fire engines attended an waste fire on Longridge Road, Preston.

"Firefighters are currently wearing breathing apparatus and are using two hose reel jets and a ground monitor to extinguish the fire.”
