Sefton Pride to bring festivities and marching to Southport town centre
A celebration of community spirit and arts this Sunday
Sefton Pride is set to return to Southport this Sunday, promising an exciting day of festivities for all attending.
The celebration, organised by Sefton Pride CIC, will kick off with a march starting from Victoria Park's entrance opposite Morrisons supermarket at midday. At 12.45pm, participants will parade down Duke Street, heading towards the vibrant Southport Market located on King Street.
At Southport Market between 1pm and 7pm, attendees can enjoy diverse entertainment, including music, dance, and artisan stalls curated by Merseyside Queer Markets. Special events will also take place at nearby venues, including Parkinson’s Books and Southport Bijou Cinema.
Jen Corcoran, the founder and event organiser, encourages the public to join the march, saying: “We have got a stunning line up and can't wait to share the day with you."
In addition to Sefton Pride, Southport will host Armed Forces Day celebrations with events at The Atkinson and in Kings Gardens.
The upcoming schedule also features a range of Pride events. Parkinson's Books will host Audio Book Pride Origins on Saturday, 27th June 2028, celebrating classic house music. All revenues after expenses will support Sefton Pride CIC.
Southport Bijou Cinema will screen several films to celebrate Pride Season, including The Birdcage on Thursday, 25th June 2026, and Funeral Parade Of Roses, Paris Is Burning and Queen - Live At Wembley on Saturday, 27th June 2026.
This weekend promises a fantastic opportunity to engage with the local community in celebrating diversity, creativity, and inclusivity.
