Volunteers from the RNLI started a search on Bank Holiday Monday after a teenage girl was reported missing off at St. Annes beach. The 14-year-old had became separated from her family and couldn't be found.

The crew were paged at approximately 6.15pm and the Lytham St Annes RNLI’s D Class lifeboat MOAM was then launched. They undertook a shoreline search between St Annes Pier and Starr Gate. This was was carried out alongside the HM Coastguard and Police teams.

The crew was stood down after around two hours of searching. Shortly afterwards, it was confirmed that the teenager had been found safe and well on shore. She was reunited with her family by the Coastguard and Police.

RNLI helm, Vinny Pedley, said: "We were very relieved to hear that the young person was found safe and well and reunited with her family. This was a multi-agency response with everyone working together, we would like to thank our colleagues in the Coastguard and Police for their support during the search."
