A 58-year-old man has been charged with numerous shoplifting offences following a series of thefts from shops across Preston.

Christopher Moran, of no fixed address, is accused of stealing boxes of chocolates, washing pods, alcohol, and a power bank from stores such as Booths and Sainsbury’s between September and November.

Following inquiries by Preston's Neighbourhood Policing Team, Moran was arrested on 4th November 2026.

He faces charges of eight counts of theft from a shop and seven counts of breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order.

Moran has been remanded in custody and is set to appear before Preston Magistrates Court today, 5th November.

These actions fall under Operation Vulture, Lancashire Constabulary's initiative aimed at tackling shoplifting across the county.

The operation is supported by Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner, Clive Grunshaw, and involves increased patrolling in hotspot areas, partnerships with retailers, and improved intelligence sharing.
