Two men have been charged with drug offences following a routine stop and search in Preston.

The incident occurred on Monday when Task Force officers conducted a stop check at Queen’s Retail Park.

During the search, they discovered cash, three mobile phones, a knife, and quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Zak Cafferkey, 31, of Farmer Driver, Preston, has been charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

Oliver Gardner, 29, of Trawden Crescent, Ribbleton, faces charges for possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and possession of a knife in a public place.

Both individuals are scheduled to appear before Preston Magistrates Court today.

This operation is part of Lancashire Police's ongoing effort, Operation Warrior, aimed at tackling serious and organised crime, supported by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

The initiative addresses issues such as violence, intimidation, large-scale drug supply, exploitation, and fraud, which pose significant harm to communities.
