The independent charity Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £5,000 for information about a burglary that took place at a property in Grimsargh, Preston on Saturday (2 August).

The reward is available for information passed to Crimestoppers anonymously that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

A gang of four forced entry to the property and stole a Burton Safe approximately one metre square.

The Safe contained gold, silver and diamond necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings and watches with a combined estimated current day value of £500,000 some of which are of sentimental value and can’t be replaced.

Police believe the suspects are from the Walton area of Merseyside, they left the property in a Ford C-Max with cloned plates.

Mick Duthie, Crimestoppers’ Director of Operations said: “We know someone out there has vital information about this burglary and those involved.

"If that person is you, I urge you to tell us what you know – you will remain 100% anonymous. You will never be asked for your name or any personal details, and you will not have to speak to the police or go to court.

"Since our charity was formed more than 35 years ago, we have kept our promise of total anonymity for everyone who contacts us.

"Whatever you know - however small it may seem - could be the key to bringing those responsible to justice.”
