Plans for a multi-million pound sea defence project in Blackpool have been submitted, aiming to save the town’s beaches and protect against flooding.

The £57 million scheme would see 17 rock headlands built along the seafront, stretching from just south of South Pier to north of North Pier.

Council bosses say it’s vital to safeguard homes, businesses, and the town’s future as a top seaside destination.

Work in Anchorsholme has already started, with more coastal defences on the way.
