Police appeal following serious collision in Lancaster

Two people, including a pedestrian, were taken to hospital

Police are appealing for witnesses and footage following a serious collision in Lancaster which resulted in two people being taken to hospital.

Reports of a collision were made just before 6:30pm on Friday (3 April) on Morecambe Road.

A Chevrolet Spark Plus travelling towards Greyhound Bridge Road had collided with a stationary Kia Ceed at the traffic lights. The Kia then collided with a pedestrian on the crossing.

The pedestrian suffered a serious leg injury and remains in hospital.

The passenger in the Chevrolet suffered a number serious injuries, but she remains in a stable condition.

The driver of the Kia suffered minor injuries.

Sgt Bex Price, from our Road Policing Unit, said:

“This collision has led to people being left with some very serious injuries and my thoughts are with all those impacted by it.

“Our job now is to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision and that is why I am asking for any witnesses or anyone with CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage to contact the police as soon as possible.”
